Beaver, toad, snake, roe deer, rabbit, stork and swan. At first glance a diverse group of animals, yet together they reveal a clear common thread.
All of these species live along the railway. It is a green corridor with very few people, ideal for wildlife but sometimes less convenient for us. Railway embankments can subside, animals may end up on the tracks and trains are forced to stop. No one benefits from that.
Fortunately, ProRail has people who develop smart and considerate solutions that allow animals to live safely without causing disruptions. And all these animals and their solutions can now be discovered at the Railway Museum.
In the outdoor exhibition Rail Animals the animals themselves share their experiences near the tracks. For children aged four to eight there are listen smell touch pull and think activities, all connected to the stories of these animals.
