Complexity, absurdity, and perfectionism characterize the work of Jaap Drupsteen. His video productions consist of countless unique graphic images: where a traditional graphic designer creates a single image, Drupsteen creates twenty-five per second. The book contains over 400 colorful and complex images, the unique frames from his video work.
The cover transcends its traditional function. Drupsteen experimented early on with chroma keying (green/blue screen), which he used to place actors in different environments. Therefore, we developed an app that replaces the blue of the book with images from Drupsteen's work, bringing his video productions to life and visualizing the creative process.
