This publication presents the results of research by the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences (AUAS) on the Amsterdam Opportunity Zones program, which provides financial support to small businesses. The research revealed a disconnect between the municipality and retailers. This tension is presented as two interwoven booklets: one in the visual language of the retailers and one in the formal style of the municipality.
When turning the pages, the reader must constantly switch between the two perspectives. Due to this friction, the booklets cannot be opened independently, symbolizing their interdependence. The large A3 format emphasizes the desire to make the report visible and not have it disappear into a drawer.
